Uppymama Ltd.

What started as eCommerce website design and development evolved into a six-year relationship that included campaign design for dozens of mini-product launches and brands, art direction, textile designs, information design, and illustration.

The Challenge
This is a responsive website exploring the beautiful handwoven babywearing wraps of Uppymama. It is accessible on desktop, tablet, and mobile devices. The website scales to fit any size browser, has excellent design details, such as the weaving shuttle in the navigation, fully responsive buttons, a custom icon set, and features some very advanced auction and draw-to-purchase functionality.

The website can be found at www.uppymama.com

The Brief
Uppymama needed a website to service their highly sought-after handwoven babywearing wraps. The site needed to support the highly engaged consumers of babywearing wraps in a professional and beautiful manner through:

• Sealed Bid Auctions
• Draw for Purchase
• A private consultant marketplace
• Interactive forms for customizations
The Strategy
Our goal was to create a digital space that reflects Uppymama's mission of promoting babywearing and attachment parenting values through the production of handwoven babywearing wraps in Canada. This website is not just a platform, it's a home on the internet that provides novice and experienced babywearers with access to wraps, babywearing resources, and information on how to babywear in a safe, engaging, and accessible way.
We focused on design elements informed by the act of weaving, from the movement of the shuttle below the navigation to the vertical lines through the logo. This design brought new life to the Uppymama logo by incorporating some of the website design elements into it as well.
Our strategy was to simplify the complexity of Draws and Auctions (the primary ways consumers can purchase Uppymama wraps) by providing intuitive tools for visitors and compelling backend functionality.

Textile Design
Uppymama needed additional design support, including soft product design, print collateral, and instructional and educational products. I worked with Becky, the founder of Uppymama, and the Uppymama weavers to develop new product lines.
